Xmas Farkles

A while ago I noticed these replacement oil filler caps on the Projekt D website and thought they looked pretty neat.  Not long after I did an oil change on the Connie and had a bit of a wrestle with the cap on the final drive.  It is a bit difficult to get off if done up too tight and after quite a few removals and replacements it's looking a bit second hand.

Just over a week ago I pulled the pin and ordered them and the replacements turned up today.  I chose black after considering Kawasaki Green for a while...

As you can imagine installation was terrifically awkward.  The hardest part was getting the final drive cap off again and then all I had to do was take the o-rings off the original caps, fit them to the new caps and install them onto the bike.  Five minutes and the job was done.

They do look a bit nicer and shinier than the rest of the bike (funny that) and should be a bit easier to get on and off.  Merry Xmas Connie.

  1. Functional and shiny looking. A win/win for you and the Connie.

    1. Farkles are great - particularly at emptying the wallet...

Of course, they are all necessary in some way or another...
